As of January 1, 2016, the Hydra-Cell T80 Series (differentiated by model numbers T80100, T8045 and T8030) has been changed to the T100 Series.
The line is offered in Low Pressure, Medium Pressure, and High Pressure model designations.
John Wanner, who spearheaded development of the T Series, noted that the name change is customer-driven and conforms to the industry convention of using mechanical horsepower to describe a product line (as in the horsepower designation of a motor) as compared to fluid horsepower.
“You wouldn’t say your Ford Mustang is a 280 horsepower vehicle because that’s the actual power delivered to the wheels when you really have 350 horsepower under the hood. Our competitors call their pumps 100 horsepower and our customers felt we should make the change,” John said.
